Inspired by the luxury of the haute couture
salons of the 1950s, Salon Chic uses a stylish
range of greys on both walls and woodwork.
Pale grey is used for walls, while a darker
shade is used in a low sheen eggshell finish
for the doors. A light cream is used to highlight
door panels and the decorative architrave.
Good quality water-based acrylic paints such
as eggshell are the ideal choice for woodwork
with their hardwearing, low sheen finish. Most
companies offer their range of colours in a
variety of finishes so you can match your walls
to your woodwork. This salon style works well
with a deep pile carpet in a pale neutral colour.
