For a fresh new look this spring, choose soft mellow greens for walls and offset with crisp white furnishings and painted floorboards. Use acrylic based products and this refreshing scheme will stand up to the wear and tear of even the toughest family room.
In more modern schemes, dare to be different with bright zesty tones of lime green. However, do not be tempted to overdo it, as you will soon discover that this vibrant shade works best when used as an accent.
Add interest to plain flat colour through the use of texture. Look out for fabrics with rough surface weaves, and when it comes to decorating use a roller rather than a brush as this imparts a softer, slightly more textural finish.
