Why not reverse the trend for coloured walls and white woodwork by painting vibrant colours on doors and woodwork leaving walls plain white! If you choose a stunning shade of hot pink on the door, architrave and skirting try contrasing this with a softer shade of lilac on the door panels. This is a great way to introduce a bold colour to a room scheme and a clever alternative to painting one feature wall.
Shocking pink works well in both modern and traditional settings provided it is balanced with neutral tones to prevent it becoming too overpowering. Elegant carved chairs are covered in bold printed fabrics for this living room while the full length curtains combine pink with the soft ivory colour used on the walls.
This clever use of bold colours adds interest to a simple modern interior. Here the walls between two full length windows are painted in a deep, cobalt blue to give a modern, banded effect. The same colour is used on the wall-mounted cabinets to pull the colour scheme together.
