Click on the small images to discover how to get this look.

This year's neutrals take their lead from Scandinavian interiors. Colours are reminiscent of early morning mists over mountains, with a palette ranging from the standard neutrals through to soft misty greys and rich brooding heathers and purples. The emphasis is clearly on mother nature with natural tactile materials such as felt, wool, fur and  tweed coming to the fore, whilst wood, stone or brick surfaces are enticingly washed with colour.

Opt for matt or chalky paint finishes and ensure that all wood panelling, tongue and groove or brick surfaces are well sealed before applying a good quality acrylic paint in a satin or eggshell finish. Look out for craft based accessories such as pewter, hand made ceramics and chunky knits in the form of cushions and throws. The ultimate aim is to combine colour and texture for instant visual impact.
